Hey, have you got a second. I wonder if you would be interested in letting me show you about a company that will let you make up to $10,000-$15,000 a week. You just have to take a look; this is a ground floor opportunity. If we both get in at the right time, we will be on the top. It's a brand new company. If I can come over tonight and show it to you and your spouse it won't take an hour at the most. What's the best time?
How many times has that happened to you? Now first of all, you are probably scared before you even know what it is all about. Second, you don't want to take an hour of your evening. That show you've been wanting to watch is on TV tonight. And the next thing on your mind, it's one of those pyramid things. And anyway, people don't ever make any money in those things.
So what's wrong here? What happened? Think about it for a moment. Are you aware of what a pyramid scheme is? They are illegal. Or is it only because when the money plan is describes it works in the shape of a pyramid? All corporate structure is the shape of a pyramid; in fact, the US Government is in the shape of a pyramid. Companies such as Avon, Mary Kay, Shaklee Products, are the same type structure. And many women and men have made good money selling those products. They are not illegal.
Or maybe it was the money. First of all, there are people in Network Marketing making that amount of money. But a lot more make a lot less. There are many people making their car payments, mortgage payments, paying their utility bill with the income from network marketing companies. And most of the time, that's all people are looking to make from the start.
If I was approached like that, I would turn and run as fast as I could. And remember, I've been around the horn with several of these companies. If I had approached you with that same company, you would have wanted more information. I wouldn't have asked to come to your house; you would have invited me, maybe not that night of your show, but as soon as possible.
But even though you may "take a look" how do you know everything is on the up and up? That's where experience pays off. Does this company have a track record of success? Who owns this company, what is their background? Would you feel comfortable investing your time and money in a company with no proven success? Do you know how to check this out? Can you do the due diligence? Doing that can save you a lot of possible heartache in the future.
So what do you do? You want to make some extra income but you need to do it from home. Get with someone who knows the industry, someone that can direct you to a reliable source of extra income. But more than anything get with someone that will show you the skills that it takes to become successful. You don't want to sound like the person at the first of this article. Learn the right things to say. Get the other people want to know what you have to offer. And most of all learn how to reach out to people without ever leaving your home. You don't want to do home meetings, you don't want to get on the telephone and call people. And you certainly don't want to go to the expense of having a meeting at the local hotel!
